Recommended system requirements for Unreal Engine

This recommendation is not a guarantee for an optimally functioning workstation, but provides the absolute minimum requirement. The official information provided by software producers is not always up-to-date, and often lags behind hardware development which is progressing at breakneck speed.

The hardware:
Processor (CPU): The processor is the most important component in an Unreal Workstation, a high clock speed is required. For most Unreal users, the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K is the best choice, for those who perform many heavy tasks such as lighting objects and a lot of compilation, a CPU with many more cores such as the AMD Threadripper Pro series is the best choice.
The graphics card (GPU) Powerful Nvidia GeForce graphics cards are ideal for Unreal. The RTX 5080 16GB for the best price-quality ratio and the RTX 5090 32GB for the very best single GPU performance. When even higher demands are placed on GPU computing power and this must be distributed across multiple GPUs, then a system built with multiple up to a maximum of four Nvidia RTX PRO 6000 96GB Blackwell Max-Q cards is an option.
Memory (RAM) For the standard Unreal Workstation we maintain 64GB, and for demanding users we recommend 128GB or more.
Storage In Unreal Workstations, we choose a fast NVMe SSD as primary SSD setup for the operating system and programs. And for projects a secondary NVMe SSD. Of course, storage for content is also needed, this can be on a regular SATA SSD or optionally large volume HDDs, file server or NAS.
